ASICS and P.E Nation Reunite for Court-Inspired Sportstyle Capsule Collection

The true sport performance brand, ASICS, and fashion-forward Australian label, P.E Nation take the next step in their partnership with a new court inspired head-to-toe collection.

Following the success of the first two ASICS x P.E Nation collections, the third collaboration combines PE Nation performance apparel for women and men, as well as a limited supply of the ASICS EX89™ MT sneaker.

Informed by ASICS Sportstyle heritage and infused with P.E Nation’s retro sport lens, the new collection centres on functional, yet stylish design details, designed to complete the ultimate all-day uniform for any on and off court moment.

The new 20 plus piece capsule collection embodies the iconic Sportstyle essence from both ASICS and PE Nation, with essential before-and-after layers and outerwear to complete the ultimate urban everyday athlete’s wardrobe. Hero capsule pieces include a skort, cycle short, leggings, zip jacket, and sports bra. Completing the apparel collection is the iconic ASICS EX89™ MT sneaker, which P.E Nation has injected with its signature street sport lens, pulling design influences from both classic basketball and tennis motifs.

The ASICS EX89™ MT x P.E NATION sneaker is available in two colourways, Black/Glacier Grey; and Pearled Ivory/Burro, and has been updated with textured mesh underlays, double laces, and oversized translucent ASICS stripes. Engineered to move through everyday scenarios in a sport meets street feel, the EX89™ MT sneaker blends the heritage influences of the GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe from 1989 with modern FF BLAST™ technology. The sneaker has a sculpted heel shape to improve underfoot comfort during everyday scenarios, and notable design features include a functional grip feature, as well as the outsole’s pattern which has been created to mirror the view of a city from the sky.

Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning, P.E Nation’s Co-Founders said, “We’re excited to finally unveil the third collection we’ve been working together with ASICS on. The premise for this release is a complete capsule to be worn on and off the court, and we’ve of course given it the iconic PE Nation urban streetwear touch, enhanced with colour details that clash and pop, to create a sport style collection that takes sport to the city streets.”

“To us, layering the capsule with a basketball-inspired shoe is another extension of the fluidity of life and the interconnectivity of movement, passion and sport. The ASICS EX89™ MT has that court-inspired appeal and a flat sole to enhance comfort and utility from on-court to the inner city.

“ASICS are at the forefront of innovation: their decades of design evolution have led to the most technical sneakers in the market. For us, this collaboration fits back with the P.E Nation ethos: a technical activewear brand built for the streets. It highlights the synergy between ASICS and P.E, too, in terms of aesthetic approach and sharp focus on sustainability. The end result: a 360-package of function, form, and future sensibility.”

Mark Brunton, ASICS Oceania, Managing Director said, “Our first two collections with P.E Nation were a huge success and the partnership is testament to two brands coming together to push the boundaries of fashion and sports.

“We look forward to seeing our customers enjoy the head-to-toe kit blending ASICS world-famous technology and P.E Nation’s fashion-forward approach to design.”
