As an acclaimed makeup artist, Bonnie has worked on international feature films, across fashion editorials for most glossy mastheads and was even appointed beauty advisor to the Queen’s lady-in-waiting, Pippa Dutton of Buckingham Palace.

With an obvious talent and a genuine passion for her craft, Bonnie developed an organic following that somewhat took her by surprise and lead her to the world of beauty blogging. She now posts regular tips and editorials on her website Oz Beauty Expert, while continuing her work as an in demand artist on editorial shoots and has also been named a Priceline expert ambassador.

What was the best beauty advice passed down to you from your mother?
How to apply blush. I think blush is non negotiable. It gives the face shape warmth and colour. Without it the face can look flat.

In terms of style, who do you draw your inspiration from and why?
As a makeup artist my style is always evolving but I like to think it’s my own style. There isn’t anyone I copy, I just love creating beautiful art. Sometimes it’s just a full glamour makeup and sometimes it’s an ethereal editorial look I’m creating. In terms of my personal fashion style I look to Pinterest for my inspo!

Who do you idolise in the industry and why?
Lisa Eldridge, I love watching her videos. She’s an accomplished makeup artist but also very good at translating looks into A DIY format. I find her engaging to watch.

What is your favourite beauty trend at the moment?
Glossy skin! I love it. In every shoot I’m working on I always end up shooting at least one glossy skinned look! I’m not really into ‘insta’ or YouTube trends. In my tutorials I always do looks that I would actually wear and not something ridiculous like clown contouring. My audience look to me for practical everyday advice.

What is your best-kept beauty secret?
Exfoliating treatments. Peels, fraxel, microdermabrasion all make your skin glow and your makeup look great! I’m a regular at getting deep exfoliating treatments and it’s honestly changed my skin.

What is a beauty trend that you wish didn’t happen?
Some of these weird eyebrow trends are getting a bit ridiculous – squiggly eyebrow shapes, eyebrows that look like braids, eyebrows that look like feathers… really?!

What advice would you give readers if they wanted to get into beauty blogging?
Find your niche. There are a zillion beauty bloggers around now so you really need to stand out. Consider what makes you special? What’s your point of difference? Once you find your niche the rest will evolve naturally.

What is your definition of beauty?
Confidence, and being true to yourself.

What do you predict will be trending this season?
Lipgloss. It’s back.

Three products you cant live without and why?
Lanolips lip balm, my GHD, and eyelash extensions.

What are your best beauty tips for the summer holidays?
Illuminating body creams. There are so many good ones on the market at the moment and they make your skin look great! Also Invest in a good anti-shine powder – I love benefit Agent Zero Shine. It stops your face getting too shiny and helps your makeup stay on. I just dust it down the centre of my face.

What’s in your beach bag this summer?
Ultraceuticals SPF 50 sunscreen and the Bioderma BB Cream 50+ in ‘golden’ OMG it’s SO good.

What is your go-to party look?
Either a soft neutral eye with a red lip OR a statement eye with a nude lip, and i always team the look up with some amazing earrings! [icon color=”Accent-Color” size=”tiny” icon_size=”” image=”fa-stop”]
