From Sydney to New York: The Jewellery Designer to Know

Sydney fine jewellery designer Monika Ruggerino is taking her signature style across the Pacific, with the Australian designer set to make her New York debut through a new partnership with fine jewellery destination Trove.

Already backed by a loyal private clientele in Sydney, Ruggerino’s growing international presence marks an exciting next step for a jeweller whose pieces sit somewhere between timeless heirlooms and wearable art.

The partnership will culminate in a Monika Ruggerino residency at Trove in early 2027. To celebrate, the designer recently gathered industry tastemakers, clients and friends at New York’s iconic La Mercerie for an intimate lunch introducing guests to her world.

Alongside pieces from her signature collections, guests were given an exclusive first look at Secret Garden, Ruggerino’s forthcoming collection inspired by a recent journey through Vienna.

Drawing on the city’s architecture, artistic history and centuries-old craftsmanship, Secret Garden explores romance, sentiment and permanence through jewellery designed to become modern heirlooms.

Guests were able to try on the new pieces throughout the lunch while meeting Ruggerino and discovering the stories behind the collection.

For a brand that began with a distinctly Sydney clientele, its move into New York feels like a natural next chapter. Through Trove, Ruggerino will introduce her approach to fine jewellery to a new audience while continuing to build the private, personal relationships that have shaped the brand from the beginning.
