A Fitting Finale for Country to Couture
Country to Couture has wrapped up another remarkable year, closing its first-ever two-night runway with a powerful celebration of First Nations fashion, culture and storytelling on Larrakia Country.
Night Two, Imprints and Memory – Seasons of the Land, Water and Sky, explored the enduring relationship between people and Country. Through thoughtfully crafted collections, designers reflected the stories, seasonal knowledge and cultural memory carried across land, water and sky, demonstrating how fashion can preserve and share generations of knowledge.
Each runway presentation offered a unique perspective, blending contemporary design with cultural expression while honouring the deep connections that continue to shape First Nations creativity. The evening reinforced fashion's role as a powerful medium for storytelling, identity and connection.
Designer Looks
The runway showcased an impressive array of designer collections, each distinguished by thoughtful craftsmanship, striking silhouettes and intricate detailing that reflected the unique vision of its creator.
Among the many standout collections, we were especially proud to see one of our very own Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship finalists featured on the Country to Couture runway. Marayn Menswear by Robbie Hartigan, our 2026 Accessory Design finalist, showcased a striking collection of mens swimwear and accessories brought to life through distinctive prints inspired by Country and culture.
Seeing Robbie's work presented alongside an incredible lineup of First Nations designers was a wonderful moment and a testament to the exciting future of emerging Indigenous design.

As the curtain falls on another successful Country to Couture, Indigenous Fashion Projects continues to strengthen its commitment to championing First Nations designers, creating opportunities for emerging and established talent, and celebrating the richness of Indigenous fashion on a national stage.
With another inspiring chapter complete, Country to Couture once again affirmed its place as Australia's leading showcase of First Nations fashion and creative excellence.
