A New Hour: Bremont Reimagines the Terra Nova
British watchmaker Bremont is taking its Terra Nova collection in a decidedly more refined direction, unveiling five new additions to its distinctive Jumping Hour family at Geneva Watch Days.
At the centre of the release is an all-new 35mm case size, bringing a more compact, vintage-inspired silhouette to a collection traditionally grounded in the world of rugged tool watches. Alongside it comes a rich new burgundy colourway, limited-edition frosted finishes and a playful pale pink iteration.
First introduced in 2024, Terra Nova draws inspiration from early 20th-century military pocket and trench watches, recognisable through its geometric cushion-shaped case, shortened lugs and low profile. The Jumping Hour takes that utilitarian heritage somewhere unexpected, replacing a conventional time display with Bremont’s bold montre à guichet - or “window watch” - design.

The new collection spans five models: the Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour, 35 Jumping Hour Frosted, 35 Jumping Hour Burgundy, 35 Jumping Hour Frosted Pink, and a larger 40.5 Jumping Hour Burgundy.
For those drawn to something a little less traditional, the colour stories are particularly good. The 35mm Burgundy pairs a sunray-lacquered dial with silver star and dot markers, while the Frosted Pink, limited to just 200 pieces, combines a soft pink dial and nubuck strap with a textured 904L steel case that creates an almost diamond-like shimmer.

Then there’s the Terra Nova 35 Jumping Hour Frosted, limited to only 150 pieces worldwide. Its fully textured steel case catches the light across tiny facets, turning one of the collection’s most minimalist designs into something quietly jewellery-like.

Beneath the aesthetics sits Bremont’s BC634 automatic movement, developed exclusively with Sellita and engineered to make its instantaneous hour change in less than one-tenth of a second.
It’s an interesting evolution for a brand built around serious tool watches. Founded in 2002, Bremont has long designed for exploration across Air, Land, Sea and Space and later this year, that final frontier becomes literal, with the brand set to send a Supernova chronograph to the Moon’s South Pole aboard an Astrolab lunar rover. The watch is intended to remain there permanently.
From military-inspired utility to burgundy lacquer and frosted pink, the new Terra Nova proves that serious watchmaking can still have a little fun.
