Calvin Klein Strips It Back for Spring 2027 at New York Fashion Week

For Spring 2027, Calvin Klein Collection returned to New York Fashion Week with a lesson in restraint.

Presented at Manhattan’s Terminal Warehouse, Creative Director Veronica Leoni continued her exploration of American minimalism, stripping the Calvin Klein wardrobe back to its foundations: the coat, the shirt, the trouser, the pencil skirt and the slip. The result was clean, precise and quietly sensual.

“American Minimalism was a discipline of removal: take away everything that does not carry the work, until only what is necessary remains,” Leoni says. For her, that philosophy becomes something more intimate, a conversation between clothing and the woman wearing it. Her conclusion? “What is left is desire.”

And that idea ran through the collection.

Silhouettes stretched longer and narrower or pulled tightly into the waist. Tailoring was thin and crisp, with lightweight wool and cotton suits sitting alongside broader-shouldered jackets. Slips and T-shirt dresses were transformed into full bias-cut evening gowns, while fine silk knits, colour-blocked baseball shirts, denim, leather and laser-cut suede brought a distinctly American sportswear sensibility to the runway.

The palette was Calvin Klein through and through, a multitude of whites and blacks punctuated by scarlet, bright yellow, royal blue, cherry and pale citron. A check inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s wardrobe added another distinctly American reference.

Accessories followed the same no-fuss philosophy. Metal headbands swept hair away from the face, scarves fell to a point and bags took on exaggerated proportions, moving between sleek architectural shapes and soft, slouchy forms. A new triangular, almost origami-like bag was among the collection’s more sculptural moments.

Minimalism, With an Audience

The setting was just as considered. Terminal Warehouse, the block-long brick building dating back to 1891, provided an industrial counterpoint to the collection’s precision. Three sculptures by Walter De Maria sat along the runway, while a soundtrack by Kid Harpoon layered Laurie Anderson and Solange over repeating musical figures.

And then there was the front row.

ROSALÍA, Teyana Taylor, Tate McRae, Sadie Sink, Solange, Emily Ratajkowski, Pamela Anderson, Gemma Chan, Katie Holmes, St. Vincent, Misty Copeland, Iris Law and Lila Moss were among those dressed in Calvin Klein Collection for the show.

It was a fitting crowd for a collection that never needed to shout for attention.

Under Leoni, Calvin Klein’s minimalism feels less like an aesthetic exercise and more like an attitude: remove the unnecessary, sharpen what remains and let the body do the rest.

For Spring 2027, less isn’t just more. It’s the point.
