Carla Zampatti AFW 2025: A Legacy Reimagined

Last night, under the luminous glow of a full moon over Sydney Harbour, Carla Zampatti's 60th Anniversary runway show opened Australian Fashion Week 2025 with a breathtaking celebration of legacy, elegance, and innovation. Façon Australia was honoured to attend this landmark event, which paid tribute to one of Australia's most iconic fashion houses.

Held outside the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay, the show was a powerful homage to Carla Zampatti, who founded the label in 1965 and passed away in 2021. One of the highlights of the evening was a collaborative tribute: 14 leading Australian designers, including Toni Maticevski, Christopher Esber, and Romance Was Born, each presented a look inspired by Zampatti’s timeless aesthetic. These pieces will be added to the Powerhouse Museum’s collection, continuing the celebration of her enduring influence on Australian fashion.

The spotlight of the night was the debut collection of Tanya Emon Beattie, who returned to the brand after two decades to take on the role of design director. Her collection, titled "Ubiquity," featured 60 looks that modernized Zampatti’s signature style with bold colours, sensual silhouettes, and impeccable tailoring. The collection balanced strength and softness, embodying the brand's commitment to empowering women through fashion.

The runway, set against the night sky backdrop of Sydney Harbour, created a magical atmosphere that perfectly complemented the elegance of the collection . The event not only celebrated Carla Zampatti's remarkable contributions to fashion but also signaled a bold new chapter for the brand under Beattie's creative direction.

Façon is proud to have witnessed this extraordinary moment in Australian fashion history.  The 60th Anniversary show was a testament to Carla Zampatti's enduring legacy and the brand's exciting future.
