An Elevated Approach to Sustainable Dressing: Gunda Hafner Arrives in NYC

London-based designer Gunda Hafner continues to expand her sustainability-led luxury womenswear label, now launching in New York City through The Canvas store in Soho, alongside its existing presence at The Platform Store in London.

Rooted in the belief that luxury should feel effortless, and enduring, Gunda Hafner creates womenswear that balances form, function, and fluidity. Each collection is designed to move seamlessly through the rhythm of modern life, offering refined silhouettes that transition naturally from day to evening through subtle styling shifts rather than complete wardrobe changes.

I design clothes to feel natural on the body and to work across a woman’s entire day,” says Hafner. “Each piece should move with her, from home to work to evening, adapting through subtle shifts in styling rather than a change of garment.”

Crafted in South West London, the latest collection is produced using responsibly sourced natural fibres from across Europe. Season after season, the label evolves with continuity, introducing new pieces that complement existing wardrobes through considered colour palettes, materiality, and proportion rather than replacing what already exists.

Defined by tactile fabrics, breathable textures, and advanced pattern cutting, each garment is engineered to offer ease of movement while maintaining structure and precision. Finished to an exceptional standard inside and out, the collection reflects a quiet confidence and thoughtful approach to dressing.

Recognised for its commitment to responsible design, Gunda Hafner has received Sublime Magazine’s Good Brand Award and was featured in the London Represents 2023 designer line-up, celebrating labels championing conscious production and sustainable luxury.

With an approach centred on longevity, craftsmanship, and intuitive design, Gunda Hafner continues to redefine contemporary womenswear through a lens of eco-conscious luxury.
