Kyle Chalmers’ New Role: Fatherhood, Family and Everyday Style

Kyle Chalmers is stepping into a new kind of spotlight.

The Australian swimming champion stars alongside his daughter, Astrid, in Superdry’s latest Father’s Day campaign, He’s My Hero. The campaign trades podium finishes and racing suits for something a little more personal: fatherhood, family and everyday style.

Launching nationally on August 7, the campaign arrives during a milestone month for the Chalmers family, marking Kyle’s first Father’s Day and Astrid’s first birthday.

Known for his high-performance career in the pool, Chalmers takes on a softer role for the campaign, offering a glimpse into life away from the intensity of elite sport. At its heart is the idea that being a hero doesn't always mean winning medals, sometimes, it looks like coming home to your family.

There is a lot of pressure that comes with being an elite athlete on the world stage, especially when you are hunting gold medals, but the moment I come home to Astrid, that stress completely fades away

The campaign also introduces Superdry’s SS26 collection, built around the brand’s Made For Living philosophy. Think elevated everyday staples , Oxford shirts, classic polos, high-waisted chinos, 1/2 zip knitwear and relaxed Harrington jackets , designed to move effortlessly between busy days and downtime.

For Chalmers, that versatility is exactly the point.

Trading a racing suit for a comfortable daily outfit is my favourite reset button,” he says.

Captured alongside Astrid, He’s My Hero offers a more intimate side of the athlete, with the campaign celebrating the quiet moments that exist beyond the spotlight and a new definition of what it means to be a modern dad.

Superdry’s He’s My Hero campaign launches from August 7, with the SS26 collection available in stores nationally and online.
