How Did Louis Tomlinson Get Here? A Raw New Album Arrives
Global chart-topping artist Louis Tomlinson enters a bold new era with the release of his third studio album, How Did I Get Here?, out now alongside the striking music video for focus single ‘Imposter’, starring RTS-winning actor James Nelson-Joyce.
Marking his most vulnerable and self-reflective work to date, the album sees Louis pushing himself further as a lyricist, songwriter and performer. Holding nothing back, these tracks explore identity, self-doubt and growth, offering an unfiltered insight into who he is today.
The creative journey behind How Did I Get Here? was deeply influenced by place. Early ideas were formed in the quiet of the English countryside before Louis relocated to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, where he spent three immersive weeks writing and recording alongside primary collaborator and co-producer Nico Rebscher. Surrounded by jungle and far removed from routine, the setting shaped the album’s raw and intimate atmosphere.
Latest single Imposter stands out as a lo-fi indie pop moment, driven by a pulsing bassline and gritty guitars. Written with Rebscher and Dave Gibson, the track confronts the reality of imposter syndrome, capturing the feeling of questioning your own success. “I can’t get this feeling out my head, that I am the imposter,” Louis sings, a line that cuts straight to the core.
Following the success of Lemonade and critically acclaimed Palaces, How Did I Get Here? cements Louis Tomlinson’s evolution as a fearless solo artist.
