Lara Worthington’s Next Move? A Beauty Brand Made to Be Touched

After decades spent in front of the camera and immersed in the global fashion industry, Lara Worthington is turning her eye to beauty with the launch of OMMAGE, and it’s anything but conventional.

Launching in Australia and the US on September 29, OMMAGE approaches beauty through the meeting of form, formula and function. Think clean, tactile products housed in sculptural objects that feel almost too good to hide away in your makeup bag.

The inspiration is suitably unexpected. Industrial objects that have been crushed, dented and pushed until hard forms appear soft inform the collection’s distinctive design language. Worthington describes the idea simply: beauty beginning with the object itself, with formulas intended to accentuate rather than mask or correct.

FIRST BASE 30 ml, $68 AUD
BUFFER BRUSH $58 AUD

The debut is deliberately tight: just three beauty essentials.

FIRST BASE is a buildable tinted cream available in 12 shades, designed to hydrate and even the complexion while maintaining a second-skin finish.

LIP COAT $52 AUD

LIP COAT comes in eight shades and can be swept on as a soft, velvety stain or layered for more intense colour.

Then there’s the pleasingly sculptural BUFFER BRUSH, with its weighted aluminium handle and ultra-soft vegan fibres, designed as an extension of the hand.

All formulas are clean, vegan and cruelty-free, but perhaps most interesting is the philosophy behind them. After years working alongside some of fashion’s leading creative minds, Worthington has distilled her own approach to beauty into one simple idea: character over correction.

With a launch event at New York’s Climax Books and the collection landing at Dover Street Parfums Market in Paris, OMMAGE already feels at home in the intersection between beauty, fashion, art and design.

Consider your top shelf officially due for a redesign.

OMMAGE launches September 22 in Australia and the US on http://ommage.com/. All formulas are clean, vegan, and cruelty free.
