Saint Laurent Strikes Gold for Summer 2027

For Saint Laurent Women’s Summer 2027, Anthony Vaccarello turns his attention to one of fashion’s most enduring symbols of glamour: gold.

Not simply used as an accent, gold becomes the collection’s entire language. Deep, burnished, pale, Byzantine and almost Brutalist variations wash across the runway, transforming familiar Saint Laurent codes into something luminous, decadent and distinctly modern.

Vaccarello revisits some of the house’s most recognisable silhouettes, from sahariennes, trenches, blouses and wrap skirts to the sharp shoulders, voluminous blousons and precise tailoring that have become signatures of his own Saint Laurent era. The result feels like a meeting of generations: the golden age of Yves Saint Laurent, reinterpreted through Vaccarello’s contemporary lens.

Texture gives the colour its depth. Lamé, organza, guipure lace, mousseline, brocade, jacquard, metallic cotton and even latex coated in gold leaf shift the mood from look to look. Intricate embroidery and jewelling bring an almost couture-like richness, while keeping the collection firmly rooted in the woman of today.

Accessories lean further into the fantasy. Monumental filigree earrings and shoes formed from gilded metallic chains balance maximalist opulence with Saint Laurent’s signature edge, complete with twisting snake heels and just enough danger.

Then, almost theatrically, the light disappears.

Gold gives way to black for the finale, culminating in a velvet suit with jewelled buttons and a trio of free-flowing black evening dresses. It is a dramatic shift from reflection to absorption, ending the collection on the same fleeting, poetic note with which Vaccarello begins: “What passes sometimes leaves more light than what remains.”

For Summer 2027, Saint Laurent doesn’t simply wear gold. It becomes it.
