Unfurled: Aje Brings Australian Ease to Paris
There was something deliberately undone about Aje’s latest Paris moment.
Returning to Paris Fashion Week for its second show, Aje unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Unfurled, at the historic Collège des Bernardins on 6 October. Inspired by the organic forms and movement of Australian botanicals, the collection brought fluid silhouettes, intricate craftsmanship and a distinctly Australian perspective to the Parisian setting.
The beauty followed suit.
Working with Wella Professionals and ghd, Renya Xydis approached the hair through the lens of the emerging ‘anti-hair’ movement, stepping away from overly polished runway beauty in favour of natural texture, movement and individuality.
Rather than one perfected look, each model’s hair was treated differently, enhancing what was already there.
Natural texture was encouraged, movement was kept loose and the finish felt almost invisible. Wella Professionals’ Ultimate Repair and Ultimate Smooth worked behind the scenes, while ghd’s professional tools helped shape the hair without compromising its natural feel.
The result? An effortless Australian-French cool-girl energy that felt relaxed without being careless. Undone, but very much considered.
With artist Vicki Lee and sound artist Ted O’Donnell also contributing to the show, Unfurled became more than a collection. It was a meeting point between Australian creativity, fashion and beauty, landing in Paris with a quiet confidence that felt entirely Aje.
