It started with a midnight text message between two old friends and ended with one of the most beautiful shoots our editor-in-chief, Lara Lupish, has ever worked on….and she’s worked with some pretty huge stars!
Samantha Wills is an international designer, astronomical business women and style icon. She was also born in Newcastle and was the Façon Book One cover girl.
The shoot was set on the Worimi Conservation lands with special thanks to the Worimi Local Aboriginal Council for allowing access to the special place.
The brief was to create a sense of adventure, intertwined with seduction and raw beauty. Something that Samantha exudes naturally anyway.
Working with Newcastle photographer, Matt Briggs, Lara and the Façon team spent weeks planning the shoot and were blessed with a picture postcard Newcastle day.
Behind the scenes and before we got anywhere near a camera, creative mood boards were created, styling finalized and products/labels called in for the shoot. Locations were scouted and the team finalized.
On the day, it took an army to set up three separate sets, pitch tents and even bring in a portable toilet …yep, we thought of everything. With more than 20 people working on set, it took precision timing and organization but we were overwhelmed at the beautiful imagery that we were creating.
