Who is Lillie?
No one in particular. Kaye (the previous owner) just loved the name and the flower.
Why did you decide to open a retail store?
My partner thought I bought most of the shop anyway so why not own it! I loved the idea of not having to go to Sydney or shop online. Newcastle deserves its own fashion mecca as there are so many stylish ladies in Newcastle looking for something extraordinary to wear.
What were you doing prior to running Lillie’s?
Before Lillie’s I worked for an organic skincare company in Sydney, then met my wonderful partner Chad and had my wonderful two boys Duke and Bronx who are now 7 & 5.
How do you come across trendy new brands to add to your collation of goods?
Social media, magazines & I work closely with agencies that are in touch with the latest trends & labels?
What do you have in mind when choosing garments for the store?
I choose quality fabrics with unique appeal. I love clothes with longevity and believe if you invest in beautiful, quality pieces you can wear them for years to come. I also look for something flattering on the body, that is comfortable to wear and makes you feel amazing!
What’s your everyday uniform?
Denim is life! I am obsessed with a good pair of jeans and have about 60 pairs. J Brand or Citizens of Humanity are my fave teamed with a vintage band tee and Golden Goose sneakers.

UNIQUE, FABULOUS, CONFIDENT!
What trends do you think we will be seeing this winter?
We are seeing fitted leather leggings, cosy cashmere knits, embellished denim jeans and jackets, velvet jeans and coats, logo tee’s, fun faux fur coats in bright colours- anything goes really when there is so much goodness to choose from.
If you had to pick one statement piece for winter, what would it be?
Only one?????? I would choose an amazing faux fur coat in leopard print that could be worn day or night and teamed with denim, leather leggings or over a dress.
